Paying Legal Fees

The Conditional Fee Agreement is another name for the no win no fee term used to describe a policy where someone can get legal help without putting up the legal fees for the solicitor. There are many types of claims that can use this process but family or criminal matters are usually not suitable. In this type of agreement, your solicitor will be paid his fee only if he wins your case. As a winner, her or she will also be awarded an extra fee on top of the legal fee. This fee is called a success fee and both are paid by the party who lost the case.
These legal fees are not the only fees that are generated by filing a claim. There are fees for things like courts costs and if a medical expert was called into the case to testify. These fees are also know as disbursements and these too are paid by the losing party.
You as the client, are liable to pay your solicitor for those costs that the court has not ordered the loosing party to pay. If you are the party who looses, you won’t be required to pay your solicitor but you are liable to pay the other side.
